We understand that the loss of a pet is a very difficult time and we would like to support you in any way that we can.  Your pet was a member of you family and his/her death can have a significant impact on your life.  Grief can be unpredictable and you may feel alone in your grief.  One minute you may feel fine and the next minute you may feel awful.  It may take days, weeks or months to come to terms with the death of your pet; there is no specific time frame for grieving.

Well meaning friends, family or colleagues may not understand these feelings and just want you to feel better.  So, you grieve in silence and isolation.

We want you to know YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

Healing is possible.  Take the first step; call us today.  Together we will embark on a journey towards healing.

Our staff at Animal Emergency is partnering with Kristi Felgner, a certified grief counselor, to offer a pet loss support group at our location at 2921 Douglas Road, Toledo, Ohio 43606.  The meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of every month from 6:30p-8:30p.

Refreshments will be available and you are welcome to bring a photo or other memento of your pet to share with the group.  We encourage you to contact us if you are interested so we can account for the size of the group.  You can contact us at 419-473-0328, but walk in's are welcome too!

Animal Emergency's grief counseling sessions are strictly for individuals who are grieving the loss of a pet and we ask that there not observers to help keep it a private, personal experience.

"What we have once enjoyed we can never lose.  All that we love deeply becomes a part of us"
