-What to expect
While we generally see patients in the order of arrival, please understand that there may be critically ill animals that are hospitalized, as well as new patients that need to be seen immediately. Our trained receptionists triage every patient that comes through the door. They will check your pet's gum color and alertness before showing you to an exam room. If the receptionist feels that your animal should either be seen by the veterinarian right away, or should be kept under the observation of our veterinary technicians until examined, they will take your animal to our treatment room while you fill out the necessary paperwork.
If your veterinarian transfers your pet to us for continued, after hours care, you can rest assured that they will be well taken care of. We work with your vet to create the best treatment plan for your special loved one. When your pet is discharged, either to go home or for continued care at your vet's, we fax a full medical record, including diagnostic test results, right to them. We also send you with a copy of the medical record, as well as any x-rays that may have been taken. Our new digital x-ray machine allows us to put a copy of the x-ray on a disc for you to take to your vet for them to view.
Please be aware that full payment is due at the time of service. If your pet is hospitalized, we will take a deposit and the remaining balance must be paid at the time of discharge. We accept Master Card, Visa, Discover, American Express, and Care Credit. We are not able to offer any billing.
Mission Statement and More
Mission
To provide the Toledo and surrounding area with the best emergency animal care possible and to be a valuable, positive contributor to the community through education and expanding emergency / urgent care services.
Promise
To constantly improve and set our goals higher while honoring our values and commitment to serve the emergency animal care needs of the community.
Philosophy
The emergency service is part of a TEAM with the owner and the referring veterinary professional, coordinating to provide constant, excellent, and advanced care for the family pet. It is a partnership, not a competition, and we strive to work with all members in the interest of the pet. We are Toledo's Emergency Animal Medicine.
Vision
To grow, adjust, change, and accommodate the needs of Toledo as the city and its population and beliefs change. To look for opportunities to keep emergency medicine affordable to as many people as possible with levels of care to fit the various budgets. To keep courtesy and respect for owners on a level as high as the physical and emotional needs of the pets. To have a working atmosphere that promotes self esteem and reduced stress in a high stress environment. To have a financially stable business with a contingent plan that keeps the service in place and in high standards regardless of ownership.- Values
